Milgrain Opal Ring
These two individuals visited us numerous times over the course of a year, from their first visit to the final delivery, creating many cherished memories.
They carefully took each step, meticulously choosing their engagement and wedding rings, taking their time with every decision.
I clearly remember their distinct preference during their first visit for the engagement ring consultation:
"I don't want a standard diamond engagement ring; I want something with natural stone color and size that suits my everyday fashion."
I was thrilled from the moment they walked in, as they were such a stylish couple. It was very impressive how well they understood not only their own fashion preferences but also each other's style and balance, which naturally reflected in their ring selection.
While they favored natural stones with vibrant colors different from diamonds, such as turquoise, ruby, and opal, they gradually focused on opals, whose base color and play-of-color varied from piece to piece.
After preparing a selection of loose stones to match their preferences, they made a second visit.
For a lifelong engagement ring, it was important to them to cherish the stone's delicate beauty and unique expression.
And that it should be a truly one-of-a-kind piece, unlike anything else.
I also felt that opal would be the perfect stone to resonate with their sensibilities.
They chose an opal with a delicate play-of-color sparkling within a white base.
It features a soft, milky white expression and a moderate volume.
Furthermore, it's a cabochon cut, allowing enjoyment of its silhouette from the side.
The stone setting design is a bezel setting, which beautifully enhances the opal's presence rather than making it overtly showy, while still highlighting its unique charm.
It's not just a bezel for protection, but one designed to showcase the opal's elegant sparkle.
To avoid being too simple, we created a double frame, and the inner bezel was adorned with delicate milgrain, giving the opal itself a quietly enhanced presence.
Seeking the most fitting aesthetic for the chosen stone,
the "Column Milgrain" design perfectly matched this opal.
For their wedding rings, they respected each other's preferred designs,
choosing en Diamond and kumo respectively.
The material is uniformly yellow gold, ensuring a consistent look.
On the back of the gentleman's ring, a diamond set with a four-pronged setting, similar to the one on the lady's ring, was secretly placed inside, creating a subtle, linked feeling.
The vivid yet elegant color suited them perfectly, and the way the rings naturally blended in from the moment they put them on was striking.
I believe yellow gold worn by a man conveys a sense of refined elegance beneath its brilliance.
While radiant, it never overpowers, subtly blending into an outfit while leaving a distinct presence. This glow, both understated and substantial, seems to mirror the gentleman's modest yet strong personality.
Their unpretentious yet impressive presence was truly wonderful.
During the photo shoot after completion, every moment captured them perfectly.
We received the joyful news that the photo used as a visual for CUSTOMERS MEMORY was also used by them for an important occasion.
The wonderful design, filled with their unique warmth, naturally reflects their aesthetic sense and sensibility. Just like the time spent choosing the rings, it conveys how carefully and thoughtfully they approached each step, which truly makes me happy.
The husband thoughtfully and carefully guided the entire process of creating his wife's "one and only" engagement ring.
This sentiment quietly led to the selection of their wedding rings, where they carefully chose designs that respected each other's preferences and values,
as a form that would accompany their daily lives from now on.
The time and conversations put into each choice,
and all the accumulated feelings and processes, are quietly embedded within the finished rings, and I believe they will continue to accompany their journey.
It was a time filled with happiness for me, as I was honored to assist them and share in their ceaseless smiles throughout the process.
After their sixth visit, they asked, "Are there many other people who visit this many times over such a long period?" When I told them it was a first for me in my ten years in this job, they replied, "Right? (laughs)."
I was secretly happy about that conversation, and that they provided me with that unique opportunity.
This past year, I realized I had probably seen them more often than friends I hadn't been able to meet, and that time had naturally become precious. The day of the final delivery, while a joyous milestone, filled me with a sense of sadness.
I look forward to the day we can meet again, and I sincerely wish you both everlasting happiness.
