How to choose your ring size - What is your finger shape? -

Do you know what ring size fits your finger?

Many people say, "I can't find the right size for me."
In fact, the criteria for choosing a ring vary greatly depending on your finger type and lifestyle, and this is considered to be the most difficult aspect of choosing a wedding ring.

Here we will explain the size selection recommended by MONAKA.

First, there are two basic finger types.

- A type with bony joints and a clean impression -

The key to this type is to choose a size that allows you to put it on and take it off while still feeling the grip on your joints.

If the joints do not fit, the product cannot be worn. Also, if the size is too tight and you feel pain when putting it on, you may be concerned about wearing it in your daily life.

Since it is not common for people's joints to become thinner as they age, the best way to choose a pair of shoes is to look at how they grip your joints.

- A-line, with less noticeable joints -

The key points for this type are whether there is any pressure or congestion when you hold your hand, and whether you can put it on and take it off without stress. If there is no catching at the joints, check the size at the base of your finger.

The important thing is how much pressure you feel when you open and close your hand; the ideal fit is one that feels just tight enough without causing pain or congestion.

If the ring is too easy to turn or fall off when you shake your hand, there is a risk of it getting lost, so we recommend a size 1 gauge or 0.5 gauge smaller.

Both types of rings have in common that the fit may vary depending on the season, your lifestyle, etc. Even with the same ring, your finger may swell and feel tight in the summer, and loose in the winter.

Summer size

This is a season when you tend to sweat and your body temperature rises, which can make your fingers swell . This is also a season when humidity levels tend to be high, so it is difficult to remove your fingertips, and many people find the size to be a little tight. *For the same reason, the size may also change if you have a cold, drink alcohol, or take a bath.

Winter size

As the weather tends to dry out and body temperature drops, swelling in the fingers is easier to go down . As it is also a season when dryness is a concern, it is easy to feel that your fingers are easily removed or that the size is a little loose. *For the same reason, many people who frequently work in cold places or with cold water will feel the same way.

As you can see, there are various ways to choose the size depending on the shape of your finger and your living environment.
