Wrapping Japanese aesthetics and artisan craftsmanship

MONAKA values more than just our jewelry.

We want the way we wrap and present it to be just as beautiful as the piece itself.

With this in mind, we have incorporated the beauty of Japanese craftsmanship and culture into the MONAKA bridal case.

The ring case itself is made from Mino ware, a traditional craft from Gifu Prefecture known and cherished for creating everyday tableware.

Our goal was to create something that naturally blends into your daily life.

We visited the factory in person to experience the artisans' handiwork, resulting in a matte finish with a subtle sheen, with the MONAKA logo discreetly engraved on the lid.

Once the ring is placed inside, it is carefully wrapped in soft "Gin-washi" paper to gently protect your precious ring.

The outer box that holds the case was commissioned from artisans in Kyoto who also create boxes for gifts presented to the Imperial Family.

They meticulously crafted each one by hand, making repeated, fine adjustments to ensure a perfect fit for the Mino ware case.

The box is tied with Sanada-himo cord from "Sumiya," a company with a history spanning over 450 years. Often called "one of the narrowest woven fabrics in the world," Sanada-himo has long been used in everyday tools.

It has been passed down through generations and was even incorporated into the tea ceremony by Sen no Rikyu. We had this cord woven in a special color exclusively for MONAKA.

Finally, for our shopping bags, we use recycled "Echizen Washi" paper, which has been produced in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture.

With a history of approximately 1,500 years, we are connecting this long-cherished material to the future in a new way.

Consideration for the environment was also a natural choice for us.

From the time your ring is crafted to the moment you receive it, and throughout your life beyond.

Through our craftsmanship, MONAKA wishes to accompany you during your most precious moments.

Japan's nature, culture, and the artisan techniques that thrive there.
We hope to naturally weave this beauty into modern life and pass it on to the next generation.

Finding new value for the present day within things that evoke nostalgia and warmth.

MONAKA hopes that our craftsmanship will be a small step toward carrying Japan's beautiful culture into the future.
